Building a movement of change in the UK to enable community transformation in India

Dalit Freedom Network

We want to build a movement for change.

With your help, we can.

The Challenge

The request from Dalit leaders to help educate their children and to protect their women was only the start. The vision is to change attitudes and transform communities to break the cycle of poverty, exploitation and oppression. At its heart is treating everyone, including those from Dalit, tribal and other poor and marginalised communities, with dignity and respect.

Transforming Communities

“We can take people
out of their misery …
one person at a time,
one child at a time,
one village at a time,
one community at a time”.

- Dr Joseph D’souza, International President of Dalit Freedom Network

When Dalit leaders asked for help, one of the key elements to their request was to raise awareness around the world so that people from all walks of life in every country - including here in the UK - would stand with Dalit communities in India.

Our Response

We are raising awareness in the UK and building a movement for change that can help to make a real difference for Dalits, tribals, and others from poor and marginalised communities in India. We do this through individuals and groups who take action to raise awareness, call for change, and support our work in the UK as we resource our Indian colleagues.

Movement For Change

“It is time for champions to emerge around the world to stand with Dalit leaders in India who want to change their world and end this modern slavery.”
- Dr Joseph D’souza, International President of Dalit Freedom Network

People from all walks of life in the UK are helping us to build a movement for change so that we can support on-the-ground trafficking prevention programmes and develop the capacity of our Indian partners as they transform communities.

Will you stand with Dalits and others from poor and marginalised communities who are vulnerable to human trafficking and modern slavery in india?
