Promise - regular giving appeal

Are you interested in making your charitable giving go further and finding the most impactful way to support DFN’s work to help the poorest and most marginalised in India?

If so, please consider supporting Promise and providing a monthly unrestricted donation. This kind of support will help us plan long-term and will also enable us to respond nimbly to the shifting needs on the ground.

Currently priority programmes include:

• Helping exploited women and girls get back into education or access vocational training and support – helping them secure good employment or start their own business.
• Enabling more children with disabilities to access education by training teachers, ensuring access to the required range of learning materials, and providing children with disability aids where needed.
• Helping people in poor and remote areas access the support of medical specialists through video conferencing, enabled by local community health workers trained to support patients to make the most of these opportunities.

Our local partner, Good Shepherd India, has a proven track record of delivering life changing and life-saving interventions at scale. Their work deserves flexible sustainable funding that can be used to fill holes in project budgets, allowing programmes to continue as long as they are required, as well as giving them the scope to trial new approaches.

You will receive an annual report on the work to which your support has contributed – its impact, the lessons learned, and how this is shaping future plans. We will also send occasional stories about individuals or families helped, providing you with further insight into how your support is making a difference.

Promise donors will be welcome to visit the projects in India and to meet those benefitting. We are currently active in 19 states across India and require just 8 weeks’ notice of your visit. We are also happy to provide further details about the projects, or answer questions you may have, at any time.

The level of support is up to you. Whether you can give £7, £15, £25 or £50 a month – your role in enabling the local project team to deliver change will be hugely appreciated.
